| | Nice! Anyone wish to compare to the GSX-R1000. I own a '07 GSX-R750, but may moveup to a litre bike. I would have a difficult choice between the two. |

| +1 the 750 seems like a great bike. I wish I would've bought one instaed of my zx10. Love my bike, but man its an animal! I was much faster/confident on my 636. |

| Why move up? Actually I would be keeping my 07 GXR750 - I love this bike, and have no reason to unload it. I would like a 2nd bike while I am at my second home. I figure why not try a litre bike, instead of another 750. Maybe find a used one first to see if I like it. So, to repeat from my first post, anyone care to compare the R1 to a GSX-R1000 or 750? |

No, because there is no comparison between a 750 and 1k.
Litre bikes are silly. It is absolutely unnecessary to be able to do 100MPH in 1st gear; on the street. |

| | Sciacallo, You're making a great point. Only time I ride on the street is to keep batt charged/engine warmed etc. I'm mostly a trackday type rider. I realize some tracks are more suited for a 750 or even a 600, than a litre bike, nevertheless, I'm curious to try something different. I hope to receive some suggestions. |

It's not the track that's suited to the bike. It's weather or not the rider is suited to ride that bike. Do what you want - just mind yourself. |

That's not a comparison, it's a fact. |

| I liked my 07 gsxr 1000 I've never ridden a gsxr 750, but I have rode the yamaha r1 (07) and it felt like a slouch compared to the gsxr IMHO, and i prefereed the handling characteristics of the gsxr |

Yeah...the GSX-R has a little more top end punch (out of the box) but the YZF has got a better chassis and better brakes. In traditional Yamaha style, you've got the wind the piss out of it to go anywhere. |
